Maurice Brianchon was a French artist during the Post-Impressionist and Modern period. He worked in murals, illustrations as well as Fine Art. He was a regular exhibitor at the Salon D’Automne during the 1920’s. He was represented by Wildenstein in London as well as Paris. Brianchon’s principal influences include Bonnard, Vuillard and Matisse.

This work was one of the artist’s last works, and can very possibly be considered one of his finest.
